Tenant’s Pleas For Repairs Finally Resolved After 4 Years
Angelus Law were instructed by a tenant of a Social Landlord after reporting disrepair to their Landlord since 2017.
The disrepair consisted of damp and mould throughout the property, including the tenant’s living room, kitchen and bathroom. The tenant had been reporting these issues for over two years to her Landlord, without success. Living in such conditions caused the tenant great distress and inconvenience.
As a result of the Landlord failing to take any steps to rectify the disrepair, despite repeated reporting by the tenant, Angelus Law were instructed by the tenant to pursue a claim for repair works to be carried out and damages.
Within a month of being instructed, Angelus Law had sent a formal letter to the Landlord and arranged for the tenant’s property to be inspected by a qualified surveyor.
Whilst negotiations then ensued, the Defendant maintained a denial of liability. However, Angelus Law successfully managed to settle the tenant’s case without the need for court proceedings.
Compensation in the sum of £1000.00, together with works to be completed to the tenant’s property were agreed with the Landlord.”
